The Karma Mindset

Empowering you as your guide, not your guru!

The mind behind the mindset

I was never one thing.

Artist and strategist. Softness and steel. A life shaped by city light, spiritual questioning, survival, imagination—and the refusal to let any one truth flatten all the others.

01 / The story beneath the surface

Not a guru.
A witness.

The Karma Mindset is an artistic record of becoming whole—without pretending wholeness is neat, finished, or free of contradiction.

I created this space as a Black woman, mother, entrepreneur, artist, advocate, and lifelong observer of the systems that shape us. My work lives where mental health, social justice, self-knowledge, culture, creativity, and spiritual inquiry meet.

I do not believe wisdom belongs only to institutions, titles, or people who present themselves as having arrived. Sometimes the person asking the harder question carries the clearest insight. Sometimes survival produces a language theory cannot.

Wisdom has no hierarchy. That is not simply a tagline. It is the organizing truth behind this work.

Twenty-four floors above the river, the city taught me how darkness could hold light.

Detroit is part of my visual language: industrial bones, riverfront glass, the Ambassador Bridge suspended in light, beauty refusing to ask grit for permission.

I once watched the skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows. At night, the world became both sanctuary and possibility. The darkness did not erase complexity. It gave complexity somewhere to exist.

That is the atmosphere of The Karma Mindset: intimate but expansive, grounded but fantastic, urban and otherworldly, nostalgic and still becoming.

The truth lives
between opposites.

My life has carried luxury and grit, precision and imagination, the practical demands of building businesses and the private work of rebuilding a self.

Hard / Soft

Strength without numbness.

Power does not require the abandonment of tenderness. The work is learning when each belongs.

Black / Brilliant color

Shadow with a pulse.

Midnight is not emptiness here. It is safety, mystery, memory, and the ground from which color becomes undeniable.

Strategy / Art

Structure that can still breathe.

I build systems, brands, stories, sounds, and images—because insight deserves more than one form.

Survival / Becoming

Endurance is not the destination.

We honor what kept us alive without confusing it for the fullest life available to us.

02 / The movement through the work

Four ways back
to yourself.

These are not steps in a hierarchy. They are frequencies we move among—sometimes in order, sometimes all at once.

Awaken

See the pattern. Name the system. Question the story you inherited.

Heal

Make room for what happened without allowing the damage to author the rest of your life.

Remember

Return to the self beneath performance, survival, expectation, and erasure.

Become

Create a life that reflects what you now know—and leave space for who you have not met yet.

“I am not interested in making complexity easier to consume. I am interested in giving it enough beauty, language, and space to be seen.”
